Scope and limitations

Fixed-km BSA scaling is a simplified interspecies estimate, not a recommended or experimentally validated dose. It does not account for species-specific pharmacokinetics, bioavailability, administration route, dosing frequency, pharmacodynamics, efficacy, or toxicity. It may be inappropriate for locally acting or compartmental administration, marked route-dependent bioavailability, large biologics, or compounds with major interspecies PK/PD differences.

HED does not represent a clinically validated human dose and is not an MRSD calculation.
